Set up in 2001, the Dot NAME generic extension is the sole TLD supposed to be for personal websites only. These domain names can include personal or fictitious names, nicknames and/or other designations people are known by. At first, solely 3rd-level registrations were permitted, so if you wished to register john.doe.name, you were required to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were liberalized and 2nd-level registrations were also allowed. Existing 3rd-level domains remained operational.

Through our company, you can register your .NAME domain for a time interval between one and ten years. You will have the chance to edit the WHOIS info, to park your domain, to edit Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an active domain to our firm if you get its EPP transfer authorization code from the present registrar company and we will renew it when the transfer has been completed. There are no particular regulations on who can acquire a dot NAME domain name, but in order to keep the idea behind its establishment alive, the .NAME Registry organization may check who the Registrant is and if there is no relation between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration can be challenged.
